Professional Bio
Ms. Shivers took an early retirement from Ketchum, one of the world's leading public relations agencies where she led the Atlanta and Dallas offices and coordinated Ketchum USA's ethnic marketing initiatives and its Latin American network. She began her career at the American Broadcasting Company in San Francisco. She served as Director of Information for Semester at Sea, a shipboard education program that combines comparative studies with world travel. Her background also includes newspaper experience as Editor-in-Chief for five southern California weekly publications. In Atlanta she was on the public relations staff of the Atlanta Arts Alliance. Ms. Shivers then built her own agency for five years, which became part of Ketchum in January 1985, and later Ketchum became part of Omnicom, the largest communications holding company in the world. She retired from the firm in 2001 She chairs several non-profit boards and consults on marketing and public relations projects for select clients.
